THE STORY BEHIND THE SHOP
Eventually everything connects - people, ideas, objects. The quality of the connections is the key to quality per se. -- Charles Eames
An architect by trade, Jenna Dezinski often finds herself curious about so many different aspects of design. Janika explores the possibilities that form, technique, and material can bring to personal ornamentation. The geometries and placement of pieces on the human figure are designed to create an image that stands out, whether it be from the asymmetry of the piece or oppositely, the complete rigor of symmetry. Each piece is designed to give an outfit that extra boost of confidence and uniqueness that accessories should.
THE STORY BEHIND THE NAME
Janika (yah-knee-kah) was Jenna's great grandmothers name when she came to America from the Netherlands, it means "God is Gracious". Upon arrival to the United States she changed her name to Jennifer Marie. Jenna's mother, wanting to name her after her grandmother, decided on Jenna Marie. We like the idea of attaching a little bit of history to this jewelry line as it has helped shaped the person Jenna is today, architecture, design, jewelry making and all.
